MOSQUITO BREEDING AREA HOME CHECKLIST

1. Mosquitoes cause the spread of disease
2. Mosquito bites are painful
3. Mosquito bites cause allergic reactions that may be followed by a secondary infection

ELIMINATE MOSQUITO BREEDING SITES
(STAGNANT WATER)

Mosquitoes must have water in which to lay their eggs and develop into adults.
If you get rid of places with standing water, there will be fewer mosquitoes around your home.

The following is a list of mosquito breeding areas around the home that may be eliminated. Please check these sites:

• Old Tires
• Cans or Buckets
• Wading or Ornamental Pools
• Water Troughs
• Clogged rain gutters
• Discarded drinking cups
• Street gutters
• Irrigation ditches
• Broken lawn sprinkler
• Old glass jars
• Catch basins
• Depressions in yard
• Old tire ruts

A small amount of rain water in the bottom of a discarded can may produce many biting adult mosquitoes.
